Ch-ch-changes!

As some of you know, there have been many changes at the office over the past few months. We have some new faces, some new sounds, and some new looks! And there are still more changes coming. But we'll go over all that in this blog today.

We'll start with my favorite change so far. I have a new room! I know some of you have already seen my new room but let me tell you about it anyway. I am still in Dr. Lusk's office, just in a different room in the office. It is a LOT bigger than my last room. I still have my hot stones, hot towels, and essential oils but there is more room to move around. My new room also stays cooler than my old room so I am no longer working in a mini sauna all day. And once the construction next door finishes, I'll be able to decorate the way I want without worrying about things falling down.

That brings me to the next change that has been going on, there is construction going on in the office next door. Some of you may have seen my Facebook post apologizing for the noise, and some of you have experienced that noise firsthand. The office next to us is being remodeled and we should have a new neighbor moving in sometime in August. I'm hoping that they will move in close to the beginning of August, but we don't have an exact time frame yet. Until then, please excuse the noise.

Speaking of new people moving in, we have two new counselors in the office. Kristy McLaughlin and Patricia Heath are now in the office with us. Kristy is in the back next to my new room and Patricia has taken over my old room. If you want to get in touch with either of them, we have both their cards available in the front office.

Another exciting change happening is that I

will be finishing my last two pre-requisite classes this fall semester. Once those two classes are completed I will be able to apply to acupuncture school. Now, I was hoping to have another massage therapist hired by now, but since that hasn't happened I am going to have to slightly change my plans. I was originally going to take Tuesdays and Thursdays off and have the new person work those days while I work on schoolwork. Since I don't have anyone yet, I'm going to just take Tuesdays off to focus on schoolwork. I am hoping to have someone hired before I leave for the start of acupuncture school, but if not I'll figure something else out then. If you know anyone who is looking for a job in massage therapy or going to school for massage therapy, give them my number. I would love to interview them to see if they would be a good fit!

One change that I am not as happy about is that I will have to increase my prices at the start of the new year. Unfortunately with the cost of everything going up, I am going to have to raise my prices. Luckily, I won't be raising them by too much. All 30-, 60-, and 90-minute massages will be going up by $5 and my 2-hour massages will be going up by $10. Hopefully, by announcing this now, it will give everyone plenty of time to get adjusted to the change when it happens.

Well, I think that is everything for now. If any of you have any questions about anything please feel free to contact me. I can't wait to see you all in the office for your massages soon!
